Ulla Johnson has such distinct craftsmanship in her silhouette, color and print selection. Such a lovely balance of old and new in the way her looks are styled. Her free-spirited collections are a true celebration of fashion immersed in color and print and I look forward to her collections the most each season. Even the solid pieces give so much inspiration to a print designer in terms of color, structure and the overall look and feel.

When I begin developing design briefs for my team, I like to look to the runway and pull from one or two collections at a time. Then I look to a few key commercial brands that I feel align to the same customer base. I try to identify similarities as well as key differences to understand what this particular audience might love most about these looks and what they might like to see more of.
