hey!

I am loving the patchwork prints we are seeing in the spring summer 20 runway collections. Patchwork is such a fun trend because you can translate it into any market. One of the best, and sometimes hardest, things you can do with your work is learn to translate the runway for your particular design niche. This is when you pull the concepts you like from the runway and infuse your own unique style as well as your clients needs or the market that you design into and create something new.

Alice + Olivia are my favorite examples here, likely because my market focus leans to the young contemporary bohemian. The Be Blumarine for example would work really well if the sleepwear market is your focus. If you started clockwise from the top left, I see missy inspiration, young contemporary or swim, sleepwear and juniors market inspiration. What are some of the ways you like to incorporate the runway trends into your work?
